In between a rock and a hard place.

Requesting: $500

Location: Richmond, VA

Today was my last day at a company that has not paid me for 6 weeks. Every week they've kept promising to pay us and unfortunately they have not. I have been looking for a job in anything I can find and I have been unlucky in securing one. The last thing I wanted was to quit my job, I was truly happy there but I kept being lied too. Honestly I stayed as long as I could and kept giving them the benefit of the doubt since I had been working for them for 3 years. I was promised to be definitely paid today, and now I'm being told that I have to wait another 9 days for their deposited check to clear in their business account. My only recourse is to reach out the VA Dept of Labor, however they take 8 weeks to review my request. If the company goes bankrupt I will never receive was is due to me probably.

I had a little bit of money stashed away and I was fine or so I thought. Today I came home to the tags removed from my car, seems my ex husband hadn't paid the taxes on his vehicle for a year and I'm being punished since my vehicle is in both our names. I have 3 days to pay $800 (for a vehicle that's worth $1500 if I'm lucky) or the state will keep my car, I'm tempted to let the car go, but I have a child that I need to take to drs. appointments, swim practice, school in a month, grocery shopping, other errands, and hopefully I'll need to drive myself to a new job soon as well. My rent is due 8/1. Wouldn't be such a problem I suppose if my ex was anywhere to be found. I have not heard from him in 2 years. The child support agency has not been able to locate him. He hasn't even made an attempt to reach out to our son. The money that I am requesting will go towards rent. I'm requesting the amount that I'm short between all my bills, the taxes, and rent. I appreciate any help that you may be able to extend. Thank you in advance.

I need temporary help, I hope to find a job soon. I was derailed a little bit and I'm lucky that I had some savings as it kept me afloat for July. I was hoping to have enough money to last me a couple more months should I need it while job searching but I was thrown into a loop when I received the tax bill. It was a bill I had not accounted for and one that needs to be taken care of as soon as possible. I can let many other things go like my phone, and if necessary our internet but I absolutely need to pay my rent. I hope to get back on my feet as soon as possible as I tend to be proactive. I anticipate my bills every month and plan accordingly. However with my company not paying me for 6 weeks and this large bill my savings account has taken a major hit. I have no idea how I will come up with the difference and borrowing money from family isn't an option. Thank you for listening to my sorrows and I appreciate any help that comes my way. does not verify individual user claims for accuracy. We are not responsible for content posted by individual users.
